Equestrian at the 2008 Summer Olympics

At the Olympic Summer Games in Beijing 2008, six decisions were held in equestrian competitions, each one individual and a team competition in jumping, dressage and eventing. The competitions were held in Hong Kong or in the surrounding terrain in equestrian sports stadium.

Dressage

In dressage competition were allowed a total of 50 riders and horses go to the start. Three riders were allowed, the rating were incorporated in the team standings per nation. Qualified as teams were the medal winners of the team competition at the World Equestrian Games 2006 in Aachen. Added to this were the medal winners of the 2007 European Championship, the top two teams of the Pan Championships 2007 and the top two teams excretion between the remaining continents. If the medalist at the World Equestrian Games also landed in the continental precipitations on the rankings, which meant the Olympic qualification, advanced after each next ranked teams. The remaining 20 seats were awarded to individual athletes, one of whom went to China, where the team was not qualified.
