Christian Ahlmann

Christian Ahlmann ( born December 17, 1974 in Marl) is a German show jumper.

Private

Ahlmann lives in Marlborough and is a skilled horse trainer.

Since 2008 he has been romantically involved with show jumper Judy -Ann Melchior. On 27 June 2012, two weeks before the expected date of delivery, in time for the Olympic Games in London, their son was born in dates.

Athletic career

Despite initially only moderate interest in equestrian sports Ahlmann was at age 14 the golden Reitabzeichen for his success in show jumping awarded. The driving force for this was his father, who is very active in trotting. In addition to the equestrian Ahlmann is still active in football.

He received his training in this field at Paul Schockemoehle. After numerous successes in junior competitions he rode under Ludger Beerbaum for the " Audi Quattro - Team", which is still competed in the Riders Tour until its dissolution in 2004. Until the last time hosting the Team Classification of Riders Tour 2006 he rode for the " Sprehe delicatessen team."

From the Olympic Equestrian Games 2008 in Hong Kong Ahlmann was suspended on August 21, 2008 due to doping suspicion after Cöster was detected in a control medication capsaicin at his gelding. The then opened and examined B sample confirmed the positive findings.

At the time of the Olympic Equestrian Games in 2008 Because capsaicin was depending on the application as unauthorized medication or doping ( on the legs, as pain- causing substance here ) classified, needed to be clarified to what facts it was in the case Ahlmann. After he was initially sentenced ( on facts identical to the same cases at Olympic Equestrian Games 2008) by the FEI for illegal medication, to a sentence of four months, the German Equestrian Federation (FN) lodged an objection to the International Court of Sport (CAS). This saw in the case Ahlmann / Cöster the doping offense as fulfilled and detained him for eight months. Against Ahlmann filed in July 2009, a complaint to the Swiss Federal Court, as it would be precluded by the judgment of the CAS from participation in the next Olympics. This has the procedure is not allowed to negotiate. Ahlmann was also excluded until 31 July 2010 for two years from all German show jumping cadres.

After this lock, he was readmitted to the B-team, followed in early 2011 due to a number of successes inclusion in the championship squad ( A-team ). The vast majority of horse riding Ahlmann, owned by Marion Jauss. The contact with Marion Jauss, which became known as self- trotting racer and breeder of trotters, was prepared by the Standardbred Breeders and father of Christian Ahlmann, Georg Ahlmann. With the purchase of the Holsteiner gelding Cöster in December 2001 Jauss that counts as well as her sister Madeleine Winter -Schulze of the most famous supporters of the German equestrian sport began supporting Christian Ahlmann, which continues today.
