Horodok, Khmelnytskyi Oblast

Horodok (Ukrainian Городок, Russian Городок / Gorodok, Polish Gródek ) is a Ukrainian city with more than 17,000 inhabitants ( 2004).

It is located in the southern parts of the Khmelnytskyi Oblast on the river Smotrytsch.

History

The settlement was first mentioned in writing in 1362, since 1957 it has the status of an urban-type settlement.

1916 a railway station on the railway line today Buchach - Jarmolynzi was built east of the town, which the town was connected to the railway network.
