Antoniny, Ukraine

Antoniny (Ukrainian Антоніни; Russian Антонины ) is an urban-type settlement in the Khmelnytskyi Oblast in Ukraine. The place is situated on the River Ikopot and is located 44 km north of Oblasthauptstadt Khmelnytsky.

The settlement council community include not only the actual settlement nor the villages Sakrynytschtschja ( Закриниччя ) and Rubljanka ( Рублянка ).

History

Antoniny was in 1593 for the first time under the name Chołodki. The place belonged to various Polish noble houses from 1850 to 1917 was in the hands of the Potocki family, they had a larger property in the village. Between 1923 and 1962 Antoniny was also the seat of a Rajonsverwaltung for Rajon Antoniny, 1956 the city was also awarded the status of an urban-type settlement.
