Hünenburg Telecommunication Tower
The telecommunications tower Hünenburg is a 164 meter high telecommunications tower of Deutsche Telekom AG, which was built in 1972 on the giant's castle in Bielefeld now in the district Brackwede. The type of tower type FMT 3/72 is not open to the public. In the immediate vicinity, however, is a set out of service telecommunications tower, which today is used as a lookout.
The telecommunications tower Hünenburg has height of 40 meters a cylindrical operating room with 2,500 cubic meters of volume. On this is in 49.6 meters in height with a platform with directional antennas. A second smaller platform with directional antenna transmits the tower 55 meters. In 89 and 123.5 meters More platforms for small directional antenna height exist. Between 123.5 and 146.25 meters, the antenna for FM radio are the red - white-painted antenna support mounted. The peak from 146.5 meters above sea level is a fiberglass cylinder in which there are the UHF television antennas.
In addition, the telecommunications tower is the tallest building in Bielefeld.

Observation tower
As early as 1952 made the German Federal Post Office building a telecommunications tower on the giant mountain. This tower was in 1972 with the construction of the new tower type redundant and dismantled, with the antenna platforms removed and some ceilings were recovered. Today it is used as an observation tower with a cafe and a museum on the history of the giant mountain. From the 40 -meter high observation deck with panoramic views, a wide view over the Teutoburg Forest are thrown.
