As motorization in Germany there were only the front longitudinally mounted, originating from the Kia Carnival 2.9 liter in-line four-cylinder diesel engine common-rail construction. This contributed to the facelift 2004 110 kW ( 150 hp ) and then 120 kW (163 hp). In other markets, there was also a 2.5 liter diesel engine D4BH without common-rail system, and a 3.5 - liter V6 petrol engine ( G6AU ) with 143 kW (194 hp). Both are modified under license by Mitsubishi Motors. Instead of the smaller diesel of Haw Tai Terracan received a 2.4 - liter four-cylinder ( 4G64 ) directly from Mitsubishi.

The transmission was either a five -speed manual or a four-speed automatic on a transfer case with reduction. While the German version of the all-wheel drive could be running only rigid, possessed the versions for other countries either via an electronically controlled multi-plate clutch, which automatically regulated the force distribution.
