Ice Hockey European Championship 1912

The 3rd Hockey Championship was to be held from February 4, 1912 2 in the Slavia Ice Arena in Prague in Bohemia, which still belonged to Austria - Hungary at the time. The interest in this EM was great, but saw around 5,000 spectators each the games of the Czech team.

It participated in this tournament only 3 teams in part, including for the first time a representative of Austria. However, the Austrian attendance was equal to the critical problem of this EM. After Austria had requested its inclusion in the World Hockey Association IIHF only on 14 January 1912 and then incorporated into the dressing until 18 March of the year. This meant that Austria at the time of EM was not an official member of the IIHF yet. The World Association therefore decided at its annual meeting from 22 to 23 March in Brussels to cancel the EM retroactively; as the representation of Bohemia was brought to their second European title.
