Ilya Zubov

Ilya Zubov Igorewitsch (Russian Илья Игоревич Зубов; born February 14, 1987 in Chelyabinsk, Russian SFSR ) is a Russian ice hockey player who is under contract with HK CSKA Moscow in the Kontinental Hockey League since January 2010.

Career

Ilya Zubov began his career as a hockey player in the youth of the HC Traktor Chelyabinsk, for the first team, he was active from 2002 to 2005 in the sub-prime Wysschaja league. In parallel, he took part with tractor second team in the game operation of the third-rate Perwaja league. Then the attacker in the NHL Entry Draft was in the fourth round as a 98th player selected by the Ottawa Senators in 2005. In summer 2007, Zubov was appointed by the Ottawa Senators to North America, where he played in the following two seasons, a total of eleven games in which he gave two assists for Ottawa in the National Hockey League. The majority of the two years he spent, however, in their farm team in the American Hockey League, the Binghamton Senators. In October 2009 he returned to Russia and was taken from Salavat Yulaev Ufa under contract.

In January 2010, he transferred in exchange for Pyotr Stschastliwy to HK CSKA Moscow.

Internationally

For Russia Zubov took part in the U18 World Youth Championship in 2005 and the U20 World Junior Championships in 2006 and 2007 in part.
