Ioannis Bourousis

Ioannis Bourousis (Greek Ιωάννης Μπουρούσης, born November 17, 1983 in Karditsa, Greece) is a Greek professional basketball player.

Career

Ioannis Bourousis was born in Karditsa in Thessaly. In 1998 he played in the basketball club of his hometown GC Karditsa (3rd Division ). In 2000 he moved to first division club AEK Athens. In 2001 he won the Greek championship with his team. 2006 Bourousis eventually moved to Olympiakos Piraeus

" Koriopolis " scandal

As part of the bribery scandal in Greek football ( " Koriopolis " ) was published in June 2011 by the Greek prosecutor calls between two Bourousis and the owner of the football club AO Kavala Makis Psomiadis. In addition to evidence of a drug abuse itself Bourousis expressed in these conversations as a derogatory term against the President of the basketball department of Olympiakos. Consequently Bourousis contract was terminated early on 30 June 2011.

National

2005 Bourousis debuted in the Greek national basketball team and participated in the European Championship in Serbia. He reached with his team the gold medal, beating, among others Germany in the finals with 78:62. In the European Basketball Championships 2009, the now -team regular Ascended Bourousis took third place and bronze medal.
