Iulia Olteanu

Iulia Olteanu (born Negură; born January 26, 1967 in Piatra Neamţ ) is a former Romanian long-distance runner.

About 10,000 m she won at the World Athletics Championships 1991 in Tokyo rank 17, at the World Championships in Stuttgart in 1993 rank 16 and at the 1996 Olympic Games Rank 8 In the World Half Marathon Championships, she was in 1992 in South Shields Tenth, 1993 in Brussels Seventh and 1994 in Oslo Second; with the team she won bronze in 1992 and 1993 and 1994 gold.

In 1992 and 1993 she won the Great South Run and 1994 Marseille - Cassis.

In the European Cross Country Championships 1995 in Alnwick, she was Eleventh and won with the Romanian team silver. A year later she ran at the European Cross Country Championships 1996 in Charlesroi a first, but was tested positive in the subsequent doping testing Stanozolol disqualified and banned because of this breach of the doping regulations until 1999.

Overall, it was once Romanian champion in the 5000 m ( 1999), three times in the 10,000 m (1990, 1991, 1995 ), twice in the half marathon (2001, 2003) and three times in cross country (1988, 1993, 1999 ). In 2002 she was the Vienna City Marathon sixth.
