Jacob Brønnum Scavenius Estrup

Jacob Brønnum Scavenius Estrup ( born April 6, 1825 Soro, † December 24, 1913 ) was a Danish politician.

Estrups father was the landlord Hector Frederic Janson Estrup. This inherited it in 1846, the property Kongsdal in the former office Holbæk. 1852 bought Estrup Skafføgård added in the former office Randers. As interior minister in the Cabinet Frijs Estrup took control of the railway network of Jutland and Funen, who had gone to an English syndicate in 1861. He built new lines of Skanderborg to Silkeborg and along the west coast of Jutland, Esbjerg, which earned him the nickname railway minister. He also managed the expansion of the port of Esbjerg, which became an important export center. In 1869, he had to withdraw for health reasons from all offices.
