Jean-Paul Mauric

Jean -Paul Mauric ( born June 17, 1933, Hyères, † January 5, 1971 in Marseille) was a French chanson singer.

After studying music at the Conservatoire de Toulon, he worked as an orchestra singer. In 1957 he got a record deal after he won a talent contest in Paris. In 1961 he was awarded Grand Prix Euro Vision Song Contest and represented his country with the Chanson Printemps (Avril carillonne ) with whom he reached 4th place.

His career was abruptly ended by a disease of the heart muscle. He died in 1971 at the age of 37 years.
