Jeff Duncan (politician)

Jeffrey D. " Jeff" Duncan ( born January 7, 1966 in Greenville, South Carolina) is an American politician. Since 2011 he represents the state of South Carolina in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Jeff Duncan attended until 1984, the Ware Shoals High School. In 1988 he graduated from Clemson University; then he worked in the banking industry and the real estate industry. Today, he is CEO of the family-owned firm of J. Duncan Associates, which operates in the real estate business. Politically, he joined the Republican Party. Between 2003 and 2010 he was a member of the House of Representatives from South Carolina. There he directed from time to time some committees, including the Committee on Agriculture and the Environment Committee.

In the congressional elections of 2010, Duncan was in the third constituency of South Carolina in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of J. Gresham Barrett on January 3, 2011. He is a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee, the Committee on Homeland Security and the Committee on Natural Resources and six sub-committees. Duncan is also a member of the Tea Party movement related Tea Party Caucus and the Republican Study Committee. He is married and has three sons.

In the congressional elections in 2012 Duncan sat down with 67:33 percent of the vote against the Democrats by Brian Doyle.

In May 2013 Duncan presented a draft law, which provides for less statistics and studies to create. The reason Duncan said that the state gets more power over its citizens by collecting data.
