Joe Cirella

Joseph "Joe" Cirella ( born May 9, 1963 in Hamilton, Ontario ) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player and coach, who in his active period from 1980 to 1997, including for the Colorado Rockies, New Jersey Devils, Quebec Nordiques, New York Rangers, Florida Panthers and Ottawa Senators in the National Hockey League as well as the Kölner Haie played in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga.

Career

Joe Cirella began his career as a hockey player with the Oshawa Generals, for which he was active from 1980 to 1983 in the Ontario Hockey League. During this time he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 1981 in the first round as the fifth player overall by the Colorado Rockies, where he made ​​his debut in the National Hockey League in the 1981/82 season. In his rookie year, the defender scored in 65 games overall scorer 19 points, including seven goals. The following season he won with the Oshawa Generals of the J.
