Joe Cirella
Joseph "Joe" Cirella ( born May 9, 1963 in Hamilton, Ontario ) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player and coach, who in his active period from 1980 to 1997, including for the Colorado Rockies, New Jersey Devils, Quebec Nordiques, New York Rangers, Florida Panthers and Ottawa Senators in the National Hockey League as well as the Kölner Haie played in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga.

Career
Joe Cirella began his career as a hockey player with the Oshawa Generals, for which he was active from 1980 to 1983 in the Ontario Hockey League. During this time he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 1981 in the first round as the fifth player overall by the Colorado Rockies, where he made his debut in the National Hockey League in the 1981/82 season. In his rookie year, the defender scored in 65 games overall scorer 19 points, including seven goals. The following season he won with the Oshawa Generals of the J. Ross Robertson Cup as OHL champions. In the summer of 1982, the New Jersey Devils, the Colorado Rockies replaced after their resettlement got the rights to the player. For the Devils Cirella played in the following seven seasons in the NHL before he was released to the Quebec Nordiques in June 1989, for which he played one and a half years before he on 17 January 1991 in exchange for Aaron Miller and a fifth -round vote was delivered to the New York Rangers in the NHL Entry Draft in 1991, where he spent the next two and a half years.
In June 1993, the new franchise of the Florida Panthers Cirella selected in the NHL Expansion Draft of 1993, for which he played the following two years. After the right-handed shooter had started the 1995/96 season with the Milwaukee Admirals of the International Hockey League, he was signed on 1 December 1995 as a free agent by the Ottawa Senators, for whom he played six games until season's end. Cirealla was at the time of his last mission in the NHL the last active player who had ever played for the Colorado Rockies. His career ended the Canadians after the 1996/97 season with the Cologne Sharks of the German Hockey League.
Following his playing career Cirella worked in the 1997/98 season as an assistant coach at his former club Florida Panthers in the NHL. Then he was in the same capacity for the Oshawa Generals of the OHL, where he had started his career from 1998 to 2004 - with the exception of the 2001/02 season - worked.
Another station as assistant coach were the Peterborough Petes before Cirella 2010 returned to pass the same function to the Oshawa Generals. For the 2012/13 season the Canadians to the assistant coach of the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds appointed.
Internationally
For Canada Cirella took part in the U20 World Youth Championship 1983, where he finished in third place with his team.
