Joe Regalbuto

Joseph "Joe" Regalbuto ( born August 24, 1949 in New York City, New York) is an American actor and director.

Life

Regalbuto began his career in 1977 with a small supporting role in Herbert Ross' film comedy The Goodbye Girl. In 1977, he starred opposite Martin Short co-starred in the sitcom The Associates, but this was discontinued after 13 episodes. He played in the episode guest-starring roles in television series such as Lou Grant and Mork & Mindy. In 1982 he was on the side of Jack Lemmon and Sissy Spacek a supporting role in the Oscar-winning film drama Missing from Costa -Gavras. In 1985, he starred with Rex Smith one of the two lead roles in the television series Street Hawk, by which he was known in German-speaking countries; these series was canceled after 13 episodes. Between 1988 and 1998 he played the role of Frank Fontana on the sitcom Murphy Brown, for which he was nominated for an Emmy in 1989 122 episodes. From the late 1980s Regalbuto also worked as a television director. In addition to 20 episodes of Murphy Brown He also shot some episodes of Titus, Friends and The Wizards of Waverly Place.

Regalbuto has been married since 1972 and has three children.
