Jovo Stanojević

Jovo Stanojević ( born September 27, 1977 in Belgrade, Yugoslavia ) is a Serbian former professional basketball player, who was 2.07 m large center very successful particularly in Serbia and Germany.

With Red Star Belgrade Stanojević won the 1998 Yugoslav Championship in the territory of Serbia and Montenegro, and reached the final in Korac Cup. In addition, he was European champion with the national junior team this year. After a year in Israel in the 2000/01 season and winning the Universiade 2001 for the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, he returned to Belgrade back to local rivals Partizan. There he was again champion in 2002 and in the year trophy winner and nominated personally for Most Valuable Player of the season.

Alba Berlin could dissolve out in 2002 Stanojević as a replacement for his compatriot, Dejan Koturović from his contract. In his first season in the German Basketball Bundesliga, he was able to repeat the successes of the previous season with Partizan, Master, cup winner and MVP. Three years later he was again with Alba Cup Winners' Cup and BBL MVP. In the playoffs, the same season in 2005 /06, Stanojevic suffered a cruciate ligament injury that forced him to a multi- month injury break. In January 2007 he took the first time an active part in a basketball league game part. Unhappy with his situation after the injury he demanded early April 2007, the resolution of the existing contract.

After a short-term commitment to another club in Belgrade he played the 2007/08 season in Poland, where he also was champion and cup winner with Trefl Sopot. His contract with Beşiktaş Cola Turka has been temporarily removed for the start of season 2008/ 09 due to obvious financial disputes, so he played the main part of the season in Ukraine at BC Kiev, which was coached by his Serbian compatriot Sasa Obradovic and the Ukraine in 2009 Cup -finals. 2009 was Stanojević short again active in Novi Sad, where he had already accrued as a youth player before moving into the province of Antalya in the Turkish Basketball League TBL after Kepez. The resident club finished the 2010 season with the second to last place and relegation. For the following season Stanojević moved to the Turkish west coast to Izmir at Pınar Karşıyaka. After two years in which he could be distinguished among others in the Euro Challenge 2011/12 personally, he spent the 2012/13 season to the Turkish Erstligarückkehrer TED Ankara Kolejliler.

After the 2012/13 season ended Stanojević his career as a professional basketball player.
