Kadıköy is the capital of the district of the Turkish province of Istanbul as well as a district on the Asian side of Istanbul. In Kadıköy also the Turkish sports club Fenerbahçe SK is located.

Kadıköy is located in the center of the city Istanbul, located on the southern side of the Bosphorus, the Sea of ​​Marmara. To the south it borders on Maltepe, to the east and to the north by Ataşehir Üsküdar. The coast of Kadikoy forms a 21 km long natural border.

History

The port city of Kadıköy was founded around 675 BC as a Megarian colony Chalcedon. In the year 133 BC, it was by Attalus III. of Pergamon to the Romans passed. In the Euphemia church the Council of Chalcedon was held in the year 451.
