Karun Chandhok

Career

Beginnings in motorsport

Chandhok began his motorsport career in 2000 in the Formula Maruti Indian. He won seven races, finished every race on the podium and won the championship. In 2001 he moved to the Asian Formula 2000 and won again straight away the championship. In 2002 he moved to Europe and entered for T-Sport in the national class of the British Formula 3 Championship. The Indians finished some races on the podium and finished the season in sixth place overall. In 2003 he stayed with T-Sport in the national class of the British Formula 3 and improved with seven wins to third place in the overall standings. 2004 Chandhok increased with T-Sport on in the regular championship of the British Formula 3 and scored some points. Three races left in the season, he left the British Formula 3, and finally finished 14th place in the championship. He then competed in the last race weekend of the World Series by Nissan, finishing in 16th place overall in this series. 2005 Chandhok started only five races in the now renamed World Series by Renault championship. GP2 Series

2007 moved Chandhok returned to Europe and went for the Italian racing team Durango in the GP2 Series, which was held as part of the Formula 1 at the start. Formula 1
