Bruno Senna Lalli (* October 15, 1983 in São Paulo) is a Brazilian racing driver and the nephew of three -time Formula 1 World Champion Ayrton Senna. He was runner-up in 2008 the GP2 Series and launched from 2010 to 2012 in Formula 1 in 2013 he drove in the FIA World Endurance Championship.

Beginnings in motorsport
Because of the tragic accidental death of his prominent uncle, Ayrton Senna, in 1994, and of his father's death in a motorcycle accident in 1996 suppressed Senna in adolescence the desire for a racing career. Only at the age of twenty he opened his mother Viviane, Ayrton Senna's sister and Chairman of the Instituto Ayrton Senna, his plans.
Like his uncle Ayrton Senna, Bruno began his career in the United Kingdom, without ever driven a car race in Brazil. The preconditions for his career, however, were fundamentally different: Unlike his uncle Senna had any experience in karting since he beginning of his active career was already too old for it. Private training sessions with his uncle at the age of five years were the only basis for Senna's first laps in a Formula BMW in the UK. But his talent was evident and his family agreed to a few test races.
The former Formula 1 driver Gerhard Berger, who was a close friend Ayrton Senna, was looking for the debut of a Formula BMW cockpit from the experienced team of Trevor Carlin Carlin. Senna started six races. In addition, he participated in a race in the Asian Formula Renault Challenge as a guest starter. He reached the target within the first three pilots. The 2006 season played Senna in the British Formula 3 for Raikkonen Robertson Racing. For the 2007 season, Senna moved to the GP2 Series, where he went to the start for the team Arden International. Already on the second weekend in Barcelona he managed the first victory of the season, however, the only one remained. In the end, Senna had 34 points on the account that finished eighth in the overall standings. Internally, he sat down opposite Adrian Zaugg, who scored 10 points, clearly through.
After the end of the season he moved to the reigning champion team iSport International and was team-mate Karun Chandhok of the Indian. Both pilots were initially in the first season of the GP2 Asia Series. Senna achieved two second places and finished fifth overall. In the regular GP2 Series Senna 2008 remained together with Chandhok at iSport. In Monaco, he won his second GP2 race. The victory has been observed worldwide since Senna had triumphed on the day exactly 15 years after the last success of his uncle in Monaco. In the further course of the season showed that Senna had championship chances. He collected a total of six podium finishes and won one more time, but lost the final of the Italian Giorgio Pantano at nine points.
In November 2008, Senna completed initial tests for the Formula 1 team of the Japanese car manufacturer Honda - with the aim to get a race seat for 2009. He scored a total of better times than his compatriot and direct rival Lucas di Grassi. After the surprising retreat Honda end 2008, the successor Brawn GP team decided a few weeks before the start of the 2009 season against Senna and Rubens Barrichello; then he has been associated with a DTM entry and graduated there in March 2009 for Mercedes first test drives. To a commitment for the 2009 DTM season, there was ultimately not.
Le Mans Series
After several ruptured contract negotiations Senna signed with the French ORECA team and drove in the 2009 season in the Le Mans Series. On the side of Stéphane Ortelli he finished the first round of the season in the top three. In the 1000 - km race at Spa Senna had, however, a serious accident in the Bus Stop chicane, emerged from the ORECA 01 but under its own power. End of October 2009, it was officially announced that Senna should start for the Spanish team Campos Grand Prix in Formula 1 in the 2010 season. However, Campos was sold a few weeks before the season ends and Senna was further obliged by the successor team HRT. When HRT Karun Chandhok he met again, who was his teammate. His former iSport team boss Paul Jackson praised the team for this driver choice, since the two pilots had engaged in their joint GP2 season collegially for the team. After he was eliminated in the first two races with technical defects, he reached the Grand Prix of Malaysia as 16 for the first time the goal. After Senna had initially received no ordinary cockpit for the 2011 season, he was a test driver for Renault. In this capacity he took part in a Friday practice in Hungary. To next Grand Prix in Belgium, he finally broke from Nick Heidfeld as race driver. In just his second race in Italy he scored his first and only ninth in points this season in Formula 1 at the end of the season he was on the 18th place in the World Cup.
2012 Senna moved to Williams team for which his uncle Ayrton had already gone to the start. It replaced there, his compatriot Rubens Barrichello. In the second race, the Malaysian Grand Prix, he scored with sixth place his best finish so far, which remained his best result of the season. Senna drove regularly in the points and finished the season off on the 16th Place. Internally, he was defeated Pastor Maldonado, who had won a race, with 31 to 45 points.
World Endurance Championship
2013 left Bruno Senna Formula 1 He moved into the FIA World Endurance Championship and went for Aston Martin Racing at the start. He denied every race, but was not permanently assigned vehicle.
