Kassaman (Arabic قسما Qassaman, We vow ') is the national anthem of Algeria. It was adopted in 1963 shortly after independence from France. Mufdi Zakariah wrote the text in 1956 in a prison during the French colonial period and the Algerian War of Independence (1954-1962 ), the music was composed by the Egyptian Mohamed Fawzi.
