Khadyzhensk

Chadyschensk (Russian Хадыженск ) is a city in Krasnodar (Russia) region with 21,579 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010 ).

Geography

The city is located in the northern foothills of the Greater Caucasus about 110 km south-east of the regional capital Krasnodar on Pschisch, a left tributary of the Kuban.

Chadyschensk located in Rajon Apscheronsk.

The town lies on the railway line opened in 1915 Armavir - Tuapse ( Chadyschenskaja Station 4 km west of the city).

History

The village was founded in 1864 as Kosakenstaniza Chadyschenskaja. The name is Adyge origin. The exact etymology is unclear; possibly by Хъыды хъы / Chydy chy for Big Chydy, the latter is a personal name.

On September 28, 1949, awarded with the growth of the town in connection with the beginning of the development of oil deposits in the vicinity is the law.

In Chadyschensk there is a machine factory farms and the wood processing industry. In the area timber industry, towards the east of the city Rajonzentrums Apscheronsk oil production.

Chadyschensk is also balneological resort on the basis of iodine - bromine spa waters.
