Koudai Tsukakoshi

Kodai Tsukakoshi (Japanese冢 越 広 大, Tsukakoshi Kodai; born November 20, 1986 in Tochigi Prefecture ) is a Japanese racing driver. It occurs since 2009 in the Formula Nippon.

Career

After Tsukakoshi was active in karting, he moved in 2004 to Formula racing and took part in the Japanese Formula Dream part. A year later he won the championship title of the Japanese Formula Dream. He also appeared in some races in the Japanese Formula 3 Championship, where he finished 14th overall, as well as a race in the Asian Formula Renault Challenge. 2006 remained Tsukakoshi in the Japanese Formula 3 Championship. He won a race and achieved fifth place in the overall standings. In 2007, he was the third year running in the Japanese Formula 3 Championship and finished the season with two wins again in fifth place in the overall standings. In addition Tsukakoshi for Manor Motorsport competed in the Macau Grand Prix and finished second behind Jarvis.

2008 Tsukakoshi moved to Europe in the Formula 3 Euro Series. Starting for Manor Motorsport, he scored 36 points. He did not win a race, but was second four times. At the end of the season Tsukakoshi reached number seven in the overall standings. In the fall he took part for Piquet Sports in testing the GP2 series, a commitment was there but nothing.

2009 Tsukakoshi returned back to Japan and started for HFDP Racing in Formula Nippon. With two fourth places for the best results, he finished seventh in the overall standings. He also competed in five races of the Super GT, in which he had participated in a race in 2008. He finished the season in fifth place overall. 2010 Tsukakoshi denied his second season in Formula Nippon. A second place was his best result and he finished the season as ninth in the championship. He was more successful in the Super GT in which he finished third with a win. 2011 moved Tsukakoshi within the Formula Nippon to Dandelion Racing. With two third places for best results he finished fourth in the drivers' standings. The same overall placement he scored this season in the Super GT. 2012 succeeded Tsukakoshi for Dandelion Racing starting in Kamitsue his first victory in Formula Nippon. After the fourth race he finished third in the overall standings. In addition, he remained active in the Super GT. He lay there after the third race in sixth place overall.
