Kristoffer Berntsson

Kristoffer Berntsson ( born July 13, 1982 in Gothenburg, Västra Götaland County ) is a former Swedish figure skater, who started in a single run.

Career

Berntsson began at the age of five years with the ice skating, initially as a hockey player, but then focused on the figure skating. In the year 2000 Berntsson was the first time as a Swedish figure skating champion in the seniors. This year he landed at the national championships the first Swede a triple axel and made his debut at the European Championships. A year later, his debut came at the World Championships. Berntsson was trained by Andrea Dohany.

Kristoffer Berntsson decreased in the period 2000-2011 in all Europe championships. His best finish was seventh place at the European Championship 2008. From 2001 to 2009 Berntsson also participated in numerous World Championships, while it reached its best result in ninth place in the World Cup 2007.

Berntsson was 2000-2011 nine times Swedish champion. As of 2005 it came to a duel between him and Adrian Schultheiss, the Berntsson at the national level, with one exception could always decide for themselves.

Berntssons strength lay particularly in the artistic part of the sport, in its various choreographies.

In March 2011 he announced his retirement from competitive sport. He studied electrical engineering in Gothenburg.
