Kurt Gribl

Kurt Gribl ( born August 29, 1964 in Augsburg ) is a German lawyer and politician (CSU ). He's since May 1, 2008 Lord Mayor of the city of Augsburg.

Career

Gribl was born the son of Mr. and Mrs. Kurt and Rosina Gribl that led an agricultural and commercial operation together. After attending primary school in the Augsburg district Kriegshaber he moved in 1975 to the Justus-von -Liebig -Gymnasium in Neusaess. Between 1986 and 1990 he studied law at the University of Augsburg. Even during the clerkship, he received his doctorate under Professor Jörg Tenckhoff a doctorate in law. From 1986 to 1995 he was 1st platoon commander and the volunteer fire department Augsburg- Kriegshaber.

After a three year clerkship at the Higher Regional Court of Munich with stops with the Government of Swabia, in the district office Augsburg, in the city of Augsburg and in the District Court of Augsburg, he entered in 1993 into a Augsburger law firm whose partner he has been since 1996. In 2005 he was admitted to the specialist in construction law and architectural law. Between 2004 and 2007, he held teaching positions at the University of Applied Sciences Dresden and the University of Mittweida ( FH).

Private

Kurt Gribl is married since 1988 with a diploma in Business Administration Susanne Gribl, born off, with whom he has three children. A few months after his election as Mayor of Augsburg he gave in August 2008, the preliminary separation after 20 years of marriage known. In January 2010 he first appeared in public with his new partner Sigrid simplicity on that as employees of the advertising agency commissioned his personal caregiver had been during the election campaign and announced a divorce from his wife on. Policy

In September 2006, the then non-party Gribl was nominated by the Augsburger CSU as " Mister X" as a candidate for the mayoral elections in March 2008. In the first round of voting on March 2, 2008, he scored a surprise to many, with a share of 44.3 %, the highest number of votes. Incumbent Paul Wengert (SPD ) received 40.6 %. The turnout was 47.6 %. In the city council election was Gribl with 65 581 votes to the so-called "Voices King". In the runoff election on March 16, 2008, he sat down at once to lower participation ( approximately 45%) with 55.9 % against Wengert through. His inauguration was completed on May 2, 2008. In the city council, he governs in a coalition with the first time being beaten citizens group "Pro Augsburg " and the liberal voters Bavaria. Since late 2012, he has no government majority. Staff disputes within the CSU, which did not get Gribl in the handle, led to row-wise withdrawals from the coalition.

Even before the election, he had announced that it would occur after an election victory in the CSU.
