Laßt uns sorgen, laßt uns wachen, BWV 213

Let us take care, let us watch ( BWV 213) is a secular cantata by Johann Sebastian Bach. Bach composed in Leipzig and directed the premiere on September 5, 1733. The plant is also known as The Choice of Hercules or Hercules at the Crossroads.

Formation

The work is a dramma per musica for Greek mythical theme Hercules at the crossroads. Bach composed the cantata on a text by Picander occasion of the eleventh anniversary of Crown Prince Friedrich Christian. The work was premiered in Leipzig in Zimmermann 's coffee house that comes in the Coffee Cantata for language.

Parts of the plant, including the opening chorus and aria sleep, my love, and care of the rest has adapted and translated in part IV and II of his Christmas Oratorio Bach.
