Lázně Toušeň

Toušeň Lázně ( German Tauschin ) is a market town with 1,136 ( 2 October 2006) inhabitants in the region Středočeský kraj (Czech Republic).

The market town is located east of Prague at the confluence of the Elbe and the Jizera between Brandys nad Labem - Stara Boleslav and Čelákovice, in a region rich in history. The spa town lives mainly from tourism.

History

1293, the village was first mentioned in writing, however, was already inhabited before five centuries. The place served as sentinels of Elbfurt that lay on the salt route. In the 13th century belonged to the fief Tauschin assets of the king. Under the reign of John of Luxembourg, the lands came into the hands of the lords of Michalovitz. Charles IV wrote here during his stay his religious thoughts, which he wrote in his memoirs later. During the Hussite Wars, the town was besieged by Jan Želivský and later occupied by Prague armies. 1468, the city passed into the hands of the Bohemian King George of Podiebrad, but whose sons they sold again.
