Leah Malot

Leah Jemeli Malot ( born June 7, 1972) is a Kenyan long-distance runner.

In 1987 she won at the Pan-African Games gold in the 10,000 m, but different at the IAAF World Championships in Rome in the flow. A decade later, after the birth of her first child, she began a career as a cross and road runner.

In their five appearances at World Cross Country Championships she won every time with the Kenyan team a medal ( two gold, two silver and one bronze). Your best individual placings were each a sixth place in 2000 and 2001.

Six times she won the Basel City Run (1996-2000, 2002) and three times the Darmstadt City Run ( 1997, 1998, 2008), the Trier Year's Eve Run ( 1997, 1999, 2001) and the Swiss Women's Race (2001-2003). She was also victorious in the night of Borg Holzhausen ( 1997), the Kassel City Run (1998), Dam tot Damloop (1998), the Grand Prix of Bern (2000), the Lucerne City Run (2002) and the Zurich New Year's run (2004). Their biggest success on the track at this time was winning the silver medal in the 10,000 m at the Track Championships Africa 2002.

After the birth of her second child, she moved in 2008 to the marathon and finished seventh at the Dusseldorf marathon and Sixth at the Frankfurt Marathon. 2009 was followed by a seventh place in the Paris Marathon.
