Leopoldo Elia

Leopoldo Elia ( * November 4, 1925 in Fano, † October 5, 2008 in Rome ) was an Italian lawyer and politician.

1976 Elijah was chosen by the Italian Parliament as a judge of the Constitutional Court from 1981 to 1985, he stood in front of this as president. In 1987 he was elected on the list of Christian Democrats in the Senate. From 1992 to 1994 he was a member of the Chamber of Deputies. In 1996 he was again Senator, this time for the Ulivo.

In the government of Prime Minister Ciampi he was from 1993 to 1994 Minister for reforms of the electoral law and institutions, on April 19, he served until May 10, 1994 as foreign minister of his country.

As a professor of Constitutional Law, he worked at several universities and author of numerous monographs and essays.
