Linas, Essonne

Linas is a commune with 6519 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Essonne in the Ile- de -France region.

Geography

Linas is located about 30 km south of Paris at the intersection of two major roads. From north to south the RN20, which links Paris to Orléans running. In the east-west direction, the Autoroute A104, called francilienne representing the third ring road of the Paris metropolitan area extends.

Not far away there was the race track Autodrome de Linas- Montlhery.

Demographics

In 2006 Linas counted 6,249 inhabitants in an area of 7.51 km ². The population of the community was always a strong growth in the last 50 years. After a disproportionate, almost exponential growth between the 1960s and the 1980s, the population increase slowed considerably to attract noticeable again at the beginning of the 21st century.
