The list of monasteries in Austria leads chronologically after the founding year monasteries, abbeys and pins in Austria and South Tyrol. The founding year specified and the founder or founders are uncertain at many facilities. Before the year 1200, many monasteries were first Kollegiatstifte, in some monasteries lived monks and secular priests at times side by side.
