The 18 islands of the Faroe Islands are listed in the table according to their land area. The state of the population dates from 1 January 2012.

Islets and skerries

The 11 pillars of the Faroe Islands are not among the 18 islands of the Faroe Islands due to their small size. Detached cliffs as Risin and Kellingin again do not count the bars, but the 750 archipelago of the Faroe Islands.

The two main spars, Tindhólmur and Mykineshólmur are also the two most famous: The Tindhólmur because of its bizarre shape; and Mykineshólmur because of its general accessibility for tourists to observe the Faroese bird life that is particularly rich. The pedestrian bridge there but was originally built for the local lighthouse.
