Lohnsburg

Lohnsburg am Kobernaußerwald is a market town in Upper Austria in the district of Ried in the Innviertel with 2170 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013). The municipality is located in the judicial district of Ried.

Geography

Lohnsburg located in Innviertel, on the Northern Slope of the Kobernaußer Forest. The main village is situated on 523 m height. History

The place Lohnsburg (documented Lonespurch, Lanspurch ) is called for the first time in the first half of the 11th century. The place name refers to a castle that the Kuchler about 900 built as a show - and Trotzenburg against incursions from the east at 722 meters high Hochkuchl mountain and occupied. The high Kuchler were former county judge in Kuchl at Hallein and subordinate to the archbishopric of Salzburg. The Museum Project Heritage House

In 1992 the Art Nouveau former community house (1910 ) has been completely renovated. Since then located in the former administrative offices, the wage burger home house.
