Lukáš Kašpar

Lukáš Kaspar ( born September 3, 1985 in Most, Czechoslovakia) is a Czech professional ice hockey player who plays for HK Donbass Donetsk from the Kontinental Hockey League for the position of left winger since August 2012.

Career

Kaspar initially went through the youth departments of the Czech first division club HC Chemopetrol Litvinov, who first put him at the age of 18 years in the top division. In nine games he played in the 2002/03 season, he scored one goal and set up another even before. In the following season, the Czech stood for the whole season in the professional cadre and posted six points in 37 games.

In summer, the NHL Entry Draft followed in which Kaspar in the first round at 22 out of the San Jose Sharks has been selected. Thereafter, the Czech his commitment to North America began in the fall of 2004, first with the Ottawa 67 's in the Ontario Hockey League. In his only OHL season, he reached with the team 's Memorial Cup tournament and drove it a total of 51 points at. With its appealing services that drew attention to him, the Scouts of the Sharks, he signed after the season his first professional contract with the San Jose Sharks, who initially put him at the Cleveland Barons in the American Hockey League. After moving the team in the summer of 2006 he played with the Worcester Sharks before he was appointed in the fall of 2007 after first few games in the AHL in the squad the San Jose Sharks, who struggled with injury problems. Kaspar came then to his first three NHL inserts.

With good performances in training camp for the Sharks in the fall of 2008, he finally drew to a regular place in the squad of NHL teams. After only a few games of the season he lost to Brad Staubitz selfsame and was sent on the waiver list, of who selected him within 24 hours of any of the other 29 teams back to the farm team to Worcester. There he played the rest of the season with one small exception, when he was brought again to San Jose. After his contract expired in the summer of 2009, this was not extended by the Sharks, after the Philadelphia Flyers took him under contract.

Early November 2009, Kaspar left the franchise the Flyers again to return to Europe. There he was taken from Kärpät Oulu from the Finnish SM- liiga under contract with Kärpät reached the playoff quarterfinals. In June 2010, Kaspar was obliged Barys Astana of the Kontinental Hockey League and completed in the next two years playing over 110 KHL games for the club.

In August 2012, Kaspar was hired by HK Donbass Donetsk.

Internationally

At the international level Kaspar played for his home country the Czech Republic at the U20 World Junior Championships in 2004 and 2005. In 2005, he was able to, after a narrow victory in extra time over the team of the United States in the match for third place, winning the bronze medal. The year before, the team still failed in the final round to Canada and Finland, which they had to settle for fourth place.
