Mahidol University

The Mahidol University ( Thai: มหาวิทยาลัย มหิดล, RTGS: Mahawitthayalai Mahidon, pronunciation: [ Maha ː ʰ Witt ÁJA ː laj máʔhìʔdon ] ) is one of the most prestigious public universities in Thailand.

She went in 1943 from the first medical school in the country and was first called out " university of medical science ." In 1969 it was developed into a comprehensive university and received its present name after Prince Mahidol Adulyadej. Its headquarters is in Salaya district Phutthamonthon of Nakhon Pathom province, about 20 km west of the capital Bangkok. History

The Mahidol University grew out of Thailand 's oldest institute of higher learning. This was in 1889 by King Chulalongkorn ( Rama V ) and medical school ( Rongrian Phaetyakon ) founded at Siriraj Hospital. The government of Field Marshal Plaek Phibunsongkhram summed up this along with several other medical institutions 1943 " University of Medical Science " ( Mahawitthayalai Phaetyasat ), coinciding with the specialized agriculture Kasetsart and focused on arts Silpakorn University. Reputation

The Mahidol University is one of the most prestigious universities in Asia. In a 2006 by the Thai Commission on Higher Education for the first time carried out the study Mahidol University reached number one in Thailand.
