The Office Mecklenburg Switzerland is located in the district of Rostock in Mecklenburg- Vorpommern ( Germany ). The Office is bordered to the south by the county Mecklenburg Lake District.
In Office Mecklenburg Switzerland 15 municipalities are merged to complete their administrative business. The administrative headquarters is in the not office belonging Teterow city. The Office was formed on 1 June 2004 from the defunct offices Jördenstorf and Teterow country. When the formation included the communities Matgendorf, Bristow, Bülow ( in Malchin ) Poggelow, Remlin, Levitzow, Sukow - Marienhof and New Heinde to the office. Matgendorf was annexed to the United Wüstenfelde on 13 June 2004. From the communities Bristow and Bülow ( in Malchin ) the community Schorssow was formed on 13 June 2004, from Poggelow and Remlin the community Schwasdorf. Also on 13 June 2004 merged the communities Levitzow and Sukow - Marienhof the new community Sukow - Levitzow and New Heinde was incorporated into Prebberede.
In addition to agriculture, forestry, tourism increasingly determined the forests and lakes rich area of the Office, the south and east has interests in the natural park Mecklenburg Switzerland and Lake Kummerow. In addition to the larger lakes Malchiner Lake and Lake Teterower some elevations higher than 100 m above sea level. HN in the office area ( Hardt mountain 122 m).
By the Authority area run the federal highways 104 and 108 and the railway line from Gustrow to Neubrandenburg.
