Hohen Demzin

High Demzin is a municipality in the southeast of the district of Rostock in Mecklenburg- Vorpommern. The community is managed by the Office Mecklenburg Switzerland domiciled in the not office belonging Teterow city.

Geography

The community of High Demzin in the heart of the Mecklenburg Switzerland and the natural park Mecklenburg Switzerland and Lake Kummerow lies immediately south of Teterow and west of the Malchiner lake. The wooded area is determined by the terminal moraine, which runs along the north western edge of the Malchiner and Lake Kummerow and High in the field Demzins heights up to 96 m above sea level. NN ( Röthelberg ) reached - the great lakes are, however, almost at sea level.

At High Demzin include the districts Karstorf, Burg Schlitz, Görzhausen, United Köthel, Small Köthel and Grambzow.

History

Today the district Grambzow first appeared in 1317 in a document on, (large and small ) Köthel 1345, Karstorf 1427th The estate in Karstorf belonged to the family from the east, up to a fire in 1709 also lived there. Later Hans acquired by Labes (1763-1831), Lord of Großwoltersdorf - Zernikow the untapped asset. Through adoption by his father was of Labes Count of slot and built in 1806 on the book mountain castle slot.

The community is dominated by agriculture, handicraft and tourism.

Attractions

  • The slot between the castle and the Röthelberg B 108 was built by Hans Graf von Schlitz instead of an older castle as a three-winged palace in classical style with chapel and a large park. Also worth seeing is the forge ( with a twisted chimney). Beside the historic restaurant " The Golden Peace" near the castle slot
  • The village church in Hohen Demzin goes back to a historical predecessor. The square field stone tower was completed in 1857, the nave was renewed as a gothic brick building with field stone base 1871/72.

The municipality is situated on the main road 108 Teterow by Waren (Müritz), the district of retail Köthel on the road connecting Teterow to Krakow am See ( junction A 19). The nearest train station is five kilometers away in Teterow ( line Güstrow Neubrandenburg ).
