Bastorf

Bastorf is a municipality in the district of Rostock in Mecklenburg- Vorpommern ( Germany ). The community is managed by the Office Neubukow - salt lagoon, located in the city Neubukow.

To Bastorf include the districts Hohen Niendorf, Kägsdorf, Mechelsdorf, Wendelstorf, Westhof and Zweedorf.

Geography

The community Bastorf between the seaside resorts Kühlungsborn and Rerik about 3 km from the coast, in the northwest of the terminal moraine cooling. The municipal area is not contiguous - the district Zweedorf forms an exclave. At Cape Bukspitze the community has a 2-km wide share at the Baltic Sea coast.

The coat of arms was approved on 20 July 2001 by the Home Office and registered under No. 248 of the coat of arms role of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

Traffic

The community Bastorf is located on the main road 12 from cooling Born to Neubukow. The Kropelin connection of the federal motorway 20 is reachable in 27 kilometers. The nearest rail connection (baths Molli ) consists in cooling Born, the next standard gauge rail connection in Kropelin. Within the municipal territory is the airfield Rerik - Zweedorf whose grass runway can be used by small aircraft.
