Selpin

Selpin is a municipality in the district of Rostock in Mecklenburg- Vorpommern ( Germany ). It is administered by the Office of Ticino, located in the eponymous city.

Geography

The municipality is located southeast of the upper Selpin Recknitz in flachwelligem terrain in the headwaters of the Warbel, a small river that flows east to Cernosin. The entire municipality of Selpin is part of the nature reserve Wesselstorf. Selpin lies in a triangle between the towns of Ticino, Laage and Gnoien.

To Selpin include the districts Drüsewitz, Reddershof, Vogelsang, Wesselstorf and Woltow. Next to Drüsewitz was the NVA main command post Ticino. There is also the district Wilhelmshof, earlier was also an eponymous district in the. Bearing witness to only a few remains of walls.

History
