Penzin

Penzin is a municipality in the district of Rostock in Mecklenburg- Vorpommern ( Germany ). The community is managed by the Office Biitzow country with headquarters in the city Biitzow.

Geography

The community Penzin - in terms of area, the smallest municipality in the district - located between the cities Biitzow and Kropelin, about 30 km southwest of Rostock. The mostly flat, and northeast of Penzin some swampy terrain reach a maximum of 19 m above sea level. NN.

History

Penzin was first documented in 1318. The community is dominated by agriculture ( grain and livestock ) and the craft.

The name comes from the old Slavic name pąk based on the locator, so place the PECA.

Penzin increased its population in 2007 to eleven percent.

Transport links

The municipality is situated on the road connecting Biitzow after Kropelin. In seven km from the A leads by 20 (junction Kropelin ). The nearest train station is in Biitzow eight kilometers away.
