Steinhagen, Rostock

Steinhagen is a municipality in the district of Rostock in Mecklenburg- Vorpommern ( Germany ). The community is managed by the Office Biitzow country with headquarters in the city Biitzow.

Geography

The community Steinhagen is immediately adjacent to the west of the city Biitzow. The municipality is located in the transition region from Warnowtal to the wooded heights between Biitzow and New Monastery, the more than 140 m above sea level. Reach sea level. Steinhagen is on the edge of the Rühner lake whose surface measures about 1 sq. km.

History

1229 first appears in the name Stenouen in a document on. The Low German name indicates a deforested forest area ( hew = Houen = hagen ) and thus gained stone -strewn ground. It can be seen today in the village complex nor the farm, including farm buildings and cottages, this complex is a listed building.

Economy and infrastructure

Besides Neubauer houses from the post-war period and homes sprung up in recent years, new businesses in Steinhagen. These include, inter alia, an electrical installation company, a steel construction company, a nursery, a rest area and a pension. The municipality is situated on the road connecting L14 of Biitzow about Neukloster to Wismar. Approx. 15 km north leads the A20 past (junction Kropelin ). The nearest railway station is located in the near Biitzow.
