Bernitt

Bernitt is a large district in the west of the district of Rostock in Mecklenburg- Vorpommern ( Germany ). The community is managed by the Office Biitzow country with headquarters in the city Biitzow.

Geography

The municipality Bernitts is located about 10 km northeast of Biitzow and takes up almost the entire part of a Rugberges, the southern part of Grundmoränenzuges, which extends to the cooling near the Baltic Sea coast. Bernitt bordered to the west by the rural district of North West Mecklenburg. In wooded Rugberg area is a nature reserve Hohe Burg and Black Lake. Here lie with the highlands (147 m above sea level. NN ) and High Castle (144 m above sea level. NN ) the highest elevations in the north Mecklenburg. The Black Sea is the highest Moorsee Mecklenburg.

The formerly independent municipalities Göllin, Short Trechow, Moisall and Schlemmin were incorporated on 1 January 2000. Viezen was incorporated into Bernitt on 1 July 1995.

History

A document from 1233 that mentions the affiliation of the village to the monastery Rühn, is the oldest evidence of the existence Bernitts. The first inhabited by Slavic Village Brunit was settled later by German forest slash- farmers. The Waldhufendorf became a Domanialdorf after it was over 500 years in the 18th century monastery. Every year in the fall Bernitt a "flying market " - connected to a fixed - instead. This tradition goes back to the mid-18th century.

In 1823, a copy of the Wendish Crown was found in Langen Trechow the construction of a barn, which was in the 19th century to the identity- historical symbol of the Grand Duchy of Mecklenburg and its constituent states of Mecklenburg- Schwerin and Mecklenburg- Strelitz.

In GDR times, children have recovered in a holiday camp Glambeck.

Bernitt is now for the surrounding area, school site ( elementary, elementary and secondary school).

Coat of arms

The coat of arms was approved on 18 May 1999 by the Ministry of Interior and registered under No. 188 of the coat of arms role of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

Blazon: " In red diagonally crossed a silver heel and a silver crosier, accompanied above and on both sides of a golden apple, down from a golden plowshare. "

Attractions

Bernitt:

  • Heimatstube - here shown things of everyday life from the past, from old furniture to costumes and agricultural equipment.
  • Evangelical Lutheran village church - built in the late 13th century. Wall paintings from the probable time of origin of the structure, two bells from the 14th century and a carved winged altarpiece from the 15th century adorn the village church of hewn granite stones with brick elements.

Viezen:

  • Agricultural Museum ( former blacksmith ) - opened in 1990.

Schlemmin:

  • TV Tower Schlemmin - after renovations in 1992 98 m high telecom transmission tower - the observation deck since then may not be entered.

Transport links

Through the community area, the roads of Biitzow lead over Kropelin after cooling Born and of Biitzow about Neukloster to Wismar. The Federal Highway 20 leads north to Bernitt past ( connection points Kropelin and New Monastery ). The nearest railway station is located in the city Biitzow.
