Glasewitz

Glasewitz is a municipality in the district of Rostock in Mecklenburg- Vorpommern ( Germany ). The community is managed by the Office Güstrow country located in the not office belonging county town Güstrow.

Geography

The municipality borders directly on the northeast of the county town Güstrow. Glasewitz is located at the transition from glacial valley of the Recknitz, which is drained by the Augraben, to the east of the valley extending terminal moraine, which overlooks it Recknitztal by about 40 meters. The area is wooded and has some small lakes. The Hanseatic city of Rostock is around 30 kilometers away.

To Glasewitz include the districts Dehmen and Kussow.

History

Economy and infrastructure

The population has remained fairly stable in recent years in Glasewitz. In the town there are a volunteer fire department, a daycare center and a farm and a nursing home in the district Dehmen.
