Langhagen

Langhagen is a municipality in the south of the district of Rostock in Mecklenburg- Vorpommern ( Germany ). It is administered by the Office Krakow am See, located in the eponymous city.

Geography

The community Langhagen lies in the forest and lakes region of the lake district and in the south west of the Mecklenburg Switzerland. This long and narrow terminal moraine reaches 106 m above sea level in the mountain near the village of tobacco Carlsdorf. NN. The municipal area on the border with County Mecklenburg Lake forms the watershed between the rivers Warnow and Peene. The cities Teterow and Krakow am See are each about twelve miles away. Langhagen has an approximately 20 -acre share of the natural park Mecklenburg Switzerland and Lake Kummerow. South originated from Langhagen and creates a bigger Kiessee.

To Langhagen include the districts Bergfeld, Carlsdorf, Klaber, Krevtsee and Rothspalk.

History

1451 emerged the place Langhagen first time in a document as Lankauel.

The first mention of Rothspalk 1414 and was called a Moltzan Johann Dietrich as the owner. 1693 bought Clemens Heinrich von Thomstorff the local estate of the holder family man. The family of Thomstorff remained until 1811 in Rotspalk. 1806 began August Ludwig Thomstorff with the construction of the new manor house, after his bankruptcy bought in 1811 by Johann Peter Freiherr von Möller- Lilienstern the manor with the the unfinished mansion. The family of Möller Lilies stone remained until 1928 Rothspalk.

Since 1905 gravel is mined in the community. In addition to some commercial enterprises there are in Langhagen the Protestant John School Langhagen, a Protestant primary school with school type- independent orientation stage in free sponsorship of the Society of Ev. School Langhagen e.V.

In 1886 Langhagen was connected to the railway network ( between Berlin and Rostock. The station was operated until 1999 in passenger transport. Passed through here on 29 December 1941, the Wehrmachtszug W 96 031 due to a switch incorrectly identified on two locomotives. Here 27 people came killed and 33 others were injured.

Another heavy railway accident occurred on 1 November 1964., 44 people were killed and 70 more were injured, some seriously, when an express train from Berlin, who was traveling in the direction of Rostock, ascended to a derailed Kieswagenzug.

The coat of arms was approved on 19 March 1998 by the Home Office and registered under No. 152 of the coat of arms role of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

The coat of arms was designed by the Schwerin heraldist Heinz Kippnick.

Flag

The flag of the municipality is transverse to the longitudinal axis of the bunting of red, striped gold ( yellow) and red. The red stripes take each quarter, the golden (yellow ) strip takes up half the length of the bunting. In the middle of a golden ( yellow ) strip the coat of arms, which occupies two thirds of the height and one-third the length of the bunting is. Traffic

The municipality is located on the regional road 11 of Krakow am See to Teterow that for both cities feeder to the federal motorway 19 (Rostock - Berlin) is.
