Dreetz, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern

Dreetz ( until 1877: Peetscher yard ) is a small town in the southwest of the district of Rostock in Mecklenburg- Vorpommern ( Germany ). The community is managed by the Office Biitzow country with headquarters in the city Biitzow.

Geography

The municipality of Dreetz closes south of the city Biitzow and lies about 18 kilometers west of Güstrow. The area around Dreetz rises from the mouth of the fog in the Warnow River in the south at altitudes above 60 m above sea level. NN to ( Lurrbarg ). In the floodplain of the river Warnow is the 600 -acre Great Peetscher lake. The community is dominated by agriculture.

To Dreetz include the districts Peetsch and Zibühl.

Attractions

A tourist feature is the 3,000 year old prehistoric cult and burial ground in a forest south of Dreetz - the Boitiner stone dance. According to legend, a boisterous wedding reception in Dreetz was the catalyst for the emergence of the stone circles.

History

  • Dreetz was called until 1877 Peetscher yard.
  • Peetsch was mentioned in 1270 in a deed of Nicholas I of Werle at the Commandery of St. John in documents.
  • Zibühl was first mentioned in 1322 and played a role in the care of the widow ducal house as well. The administrator of the diocese of Schwerin, Duke Ulrich of Mecklenburg, Prince of Denmark, supplied here his wife Katharina Hahn. Later, the estate went over the Mätressenversorgung to a branch of the family of Mecklenburg left. In the 19th century the estate was then owned by the originating from Lübeck family of Roddenberry. 1934 has been settled and distributed the land to 19 peasant settler families. The brick building of the single-storey house inspectors from 1914 reminds of the former " Gutszeit ". The house has a mansard roof and a double- staircase leads to the entrance portal in Mittelrisaliten that closes up with a triangular pediment. The place is also mentioned by the Mecklenburg writer Uwe Johnson in his works.

Personalities

  • Cuno of Roddenberry (1857-1927), genealogist and Herald, was born in Zibühl.

The community is located close to the road of Biitzow according to Goldberg. By Prüzen six kilometers away, the B 104 ( - Schwerin Güstrow ) leads. The nearest train station is in the nearby town Biitzow.
