Benitz

Benitz is a municipality in the district of Rostock in Mecklenburg- Vorpommern ( Germany ). The community is managed by the Office Schwaan based in the same city.

Geography

The community Benitz on the west bank of the lower Warnow, the place Benitz is located about a kilometer from the river. South of Benitz borders the city Schwaan to the community, 12 km north lies the port of Rostock. The highest point is located on the eastern shore of the lake at Brook Brook Husen 37 meters above sea level, the terrain falls to the Warnow to about 0.2 meters above sea level. On the territory of the municipality there is no greater forest cover.

  • The manor house at Brook Husen was built in 1800 and rebuilt in the late 19th century through renovations and additions to the two-storey building.

Traffic

Benitz is conveniently located to the A20 five miles north of the village lies the junction Rostock- Southtown. Through the community's railroad Rostock- Schwaan leads with a breakpoint in Huckstorf; the distance there is around two kilometers.
