Papendorf (Warnow)

Pape Village is a municipality in the district of Rostock in Mecklenburg- Vorpommern ( Germany ). The municipality is part of the Office Warnow - West, located in the municipality Kritzmow. The evangelical community is one of Rostock- Biestow.

For Pape Village include the districts Pape Village, Gragetopshof, Great Stove, Niendorf and Sildemow.

Geography

The municipality Pape village located on the western shore of the lower Warnow and is adjacent to the south of the port and Hanseatic City of Rostock. The community has become a popular residential location with many homes, the population has increased accordingly after 1990.

History

In the period 1150-1300 the villages were established in the municipality of German farmers in the wake of Ostsiedlung. Pape village was first mentioned in 1257 in a document. Since the 19th century Pape village school site of the municipality. Today Warnow school has a primary school and a Regional School.

The municipal council consists (including mayor) of 12 members. The choice for the local council on 7 June 2009 had the following results:

Mayor of the municipality is Klaus Zeplien (The Left ), he was elected with 78.1 % of votes.

  • In the district Sildemow there is a memorial stone in 1969 for the Communists Fiete Schulze, who was murdered after his return from the Soviet emigration of the Nazi judiciary 1935. After the fall of Rostock motor vessel with Schulze's name in 1967 named its youth club after him and built on the 34th anniversary of his execution this memorial.
  • The 1907 Pape village built by entrepreneur Henry Hoeppner Art Nouveau villa is a listed building

Transport links

The immediate vicinity of Rostock offers Pape Village with convenient access to the national transport routes. Through the municipal area leads the Federal Highway 20 to the junction Rostock- Southtown at Niendorf district and the provincial road from Rostock to Schwaan. The Pape Village train station is on the railway line Rostock- Schwerin and is served by the line 2 - Güstrow Rostock S-Bahn Rostock every hour.
