Hoppenrade

Hoppenrade is a municipality in the south of the district of Rostock in Mecklenburg- Vorpommern ( Germany ). It is administered by the Office Krakow am See, located in the eponymous city.

Geography

The community Hoppenrade lies between the county town Güstrow and Krakow am See. The municipal area on the edge of the lake district is divided by the transverse valley of fog. This rare in Mecklenburg valley shape with rough edges is completely protected. The hills east and west of the valley lie partly 40 m above the fog, near the hamlet of Koppelow 73 m above sea level. NHN achieved. East of the village Schwiggerow is the Highest Mountain. He is at 84 m above sea level. NHN, the highest point in the municipality.

To Hoppenrade include the districts Koppelow, Kolln, Lüdershagen, Schwiggerow and Striggow.

Attractions

  • A 1853 built in Neo-Renaissance style mansion in Hoppenrade has been used for 70 years as a nursing home, since the reorganization in 2001 here are private homes. For monumental ensemble includes a park and the inspector's house. The latter is operated since 2002 as a guest house with basic facilities.

The surroundings of the village is dominated by forests and agriculture, tourism plays an increasing role ( Mist Valley, Lake Krakow and Güstrow ).

Transport links

Through the municipal area the federal highway 103 leads from Gustrow to Kyritz. Hoppenrade has a station on the railway line Güstrow Meyenburg, on the regular passenger traffic was closed in 2000. The next controlled passenger rail station is in Güstrow. From Hoppenrade can be reached via a shuttle to the federal motorway 19 (Rostock - Berlin, junction Krakow).
