Klein Belitz

Klein Belitz is a municipality in the district of Rostock in Mecklenburg- Vorpommern ( Germany ). The community is managed by the Office Biitzow country with headquarters in the city Biitzow.

Geography

The municipality Klein Belitz is between Biitzow and Rostock. The mostly flat area from Warnowtal to Neukirchener Plage, a wetland, which is a nature reserve, barely reaches 20 m above sea level. NN.

History

For the first time appeared Belitz, whose name indicates a Slavic settlement, in 1270 in a document on. The last owner of the goods Klein Belitz was Carl -Friedrich von Langen, the two gold medals won in dressage at the Summer Olympic Games in 1928 in Amsterdam.

Great Belitz was incorporated on 1 July 1950. On 1 August 2001 Klein Belitz was merged with Selow the new community Selow, which was renamed the very next day in Klein Belitz.

The village church in Neukirchen is a stone building from the 13th century. The tower has four shield pediment and an eight- helmet. It houses two bells, which were probably cast in the Middle Ages. Is a sundial on the south side. In-room amenities include a wooden Taufständer 17th century pulpit and altar from 1728, a crucifix from the 13th century as well as a table that lists the pastors since 1568.
