Mercury Marauder
The Mercury Marauder was offered by the U.S., to the Ford company associated automobile manufacturer Mercury in the years 1968 to 1970 and 2003/2004 model and counted in the category of full-size muscle cars, so the powerful models of the upper middle class.

After Mercury had already named by spring 1963 to autumn 1966, the two - and four-door fastback versions of Monterey, Montclair and Park Lane with the additional designation Marauder, led the work to the model 1969, the Marauder as a stand-alone model series in.
The Marauder was part of the full-size model family of Mercury, but he rested on the shortened by 7.5 inches in wheelbase platform of the combination models and was available only as a two-door hardtop coupe with independent fastback roofline. The front end with pop-up headlights came from the Marquis. For the model year 2003 Mercury launched again a Marauder, this time a four-door sedan. This reflects the trend of the 1990s, where coupes in favor of ( practical ) sedan models went out of fashion.
In 2003/2004 Marauder it was a sister model of the Panther platform series from Ford, namely the Ford Crown Victoria, Mercury Grand Marquis and Lincoln Town Car.
For the model year 2003, the entire series, especially under the sheet, a considerable change has been subjected to what even the new sports model, the Marauder benefited.
Features:
- As a motor, he received the 4.6 - liter V8, the Modular series in the 4- valve version, also known as Intech. In fact, this was the same engine as in the same time built Ford Mustang Mach 1 ( 2003 2004). The engine delivered 225 kW ( 306 hp) at 6000 rpm. At the rear, there was a fairly lush factory dual exhaust system in chromed steel. The 4 -speed automatic transmission including transducer was matched to the engine.
- The chassis front received the light metal axis of the Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor, so the increased and hard variant of the police version. Rear sat an electronically controlled air suspension with Tokico dampers, which was specially mounted outside the frame for faster response. Furthermore, there was maraudereigene 18- inch wheels with Mercury head emblem.
- Inside, special Marauder seats were engraved with the emblem of the god Mercury ( "Mercury" ), white instrument dials (speed, speed, fuel, temperature) as well as additional displays made of aluminum for oil and electrical voltage in the center console. The (art) wood trim of the Grand Marquis was traded by the variations in the Carboniferous style. The automatic gearshift lever and the steering wheel with remote elements were kept in black leather. The floor mats were embroidered silver front with the words " Marauder ".
- Exterior colors: Model 2003 only Black, 2004 Burgundy, Silver and Blue. Leather interior colors: Black ( Dark Charcoal ) and flint (Light Flint)
- Parts of the reflecting surfaces in the clear-glass headlights were specifically black surround. The taillights were similar to those of the Crown Victoria. The front turn signal / side marker had their own ( black ) design with integrated Abbiegelampen ( cornering lights ).
- The list of orderable options was because of the lush basic equipment very short. It could only CD changer, heated seats, sunroof and a trunk organizer are added.

Since 2009, the Marauder by Ford is acknowledged as limited edition, proof certificate will be issued for every vehicle from Ford on request.
