Mike Rosati
Michael Anthony Rosati ( born January 7, 1968 in Toronto, Ontario ) is a former Italian- Canadian professional ice hockey goaltender.
Career
As a junior he played in the Canadian Junior Football League Ontario Hockey League with the Hamilton Steel Hawks and was selected during the NHL Entry Draft in 1988 by the New York Rangers at 131st position, but where he never played. In the summer of 1990 he moved to HC Bolzano in South Tyrol. There he contributed greatly to winning the national championship in 1995 and 1996.
As the Italian Serie A1 mid-nineties was in crisis, Mike Rosati joined the Adler Mannheim in the German Hockey League, with whom he each German champion in the seasons 1996/97 and 1997 /98. In 1997, he was with a Gegentorschnitt of 2.35 goals / game the best goalkeeper of the regular season in the DEL. After the second season saw him a Scout of the Washington Capitals and he joined as a third goalie of the team in the United States. As the second goalkeeper was injured and later became the first goalie, Olaf Kolzig, retired during the game against the Ottawa Senators on 7 November 1998, he made his debut in the NHL. In the 28 minutes played, he conceded a goal. However, it did the team of Capitals never take off properly and played mostly in the farm team of the Capitals, the Portland Pirates in the American Hockey League.
In the summer of 1999, he moved back to Mannheim. At the end of the season 2000/ 01 he again won the German championship with the eagles. From the season 2003/ 04 he was playing in the second German league at the Heilbronner Falken. In the season 2004/ 05 he served as assistant coach under Stéphane Richer again at the team Adler Mannheim.
Internationally
For Italy Rosati participated in the B World Cup 2003 and the A World Championships in 1994, 1995, 1997, 2000, 2001 and 2002. In addition, he was in the squad of his country at the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer and Nagano 1998.

After the career
Rosati currently operates a hockey school for goalkeepers in Alliston / Canada.
Social Commitment
Together with the eagles Mannheim he is the initiator of Rosy's Kids Corner. The initiative raises funds for the fight against leukemia.
